| Maanshan port to build a 10,000-tonne terminal
THE first phase of eastern China river port Maanshan's Zhengpu port area construction project has passed preliminary feasibility inspection. After completion, a terminal of 10,000 tonnes will be constructed at the port area, Xinhua reports.
The project includes one 5,000-tonne container berth and two 5,000-tonne bulk berths which can be converted into container berths in future. The berths can accommodate ships of 20,000 tonnes. The new terminal will bring an annual capacity of 2.2 million tonnes to the port. Container capacity will be 150,000 TEU while bulk 1.3 million tonnes.
Zhengpu port area is the closest region to Yangtze River Delta in Anhui province. It is also one of the province's highlighted developments to forge closer economic cooperative ties with the Yangtze River Delta.
