Samudera Shipping second quarter profit soars 300pc to US$7.5 million

SINGAPORE-listed intra-Asia container carrier Samudera Shipping Line has posted a 300 per cent second quarter net profit increase to US$7.5 million year on year, drawn on revenues of $129.5 million, up 11 per cent.

The 37th largest container shipping line said new services, the additional revenue generated by bunker surcharges and the sale of two vessels helped boost the company' s performance in the second quarter.
